Gone Girl

Ben Affleck plays the salt-of-the-Earth former writer turned college professor whose wife goes missing the day of their 5th anniversary. But here's the twist: his wife is Amy of the famous book serious Amazing Amy. Amazing Amy was a book series about a prodigy kid that her parents wrote, published, and made millions off of. Of course this is now national news. Whenever there's a missing person the closest relative is the prime suspect, in this case it'd be Ben Affleck's Nick. But did he kidnap Amy? Better yet did he kill her? Keep reading..
I think for years people have compared Ben & his famous best friend Matt Damon's careers. Matt is much more critically acclaimed than Ben...until Ben stepped behind the camera. Ben's directorial debut Gone Baby Gone made everyone look at Ben differently. But it was Argo that truly made the critics stand alongside everyone else. Now back in front of the camera Ben he hasn't been this good since Hollywoodland when he played George Reeves. Ben is literally at the top of his game. Every twist and turn in this story you are rooting for him. It isn't this movie details what happened to Amazing Amy that you say to yourself  "Wait who is Rosamund Pike, and why am I just now recognizing her?" This woman is a POWERHOUSE! She is not just another blond actress. Fully predicting she will be nominated for an Academy Award. I dunno if she'll win, but WOW! I refuse to give away spoilers, but this woman is commanding. Rumor is Gwyneth Paltrow was the first choice for Amy which I can see, but that would've been the safe choice. Rosamund is SO PERFECT for the role.

Guest starring in equally brilliant ways are Sela Ward, Neil Patrick Harris, and Missi Pyle aka Nancy Grace LOL My prediction is that everyone involved in this movie will have their careers soar like never before. Oh and just an added bonus if I didn't already love this film for its acting, plotting, and direction I got to see Ben Affleck's HUGE bubble butt....AND Neil Patrick Harris'. The gay Gods were smiling on me. haha Oh and to add more awesomeness to the cast Casey Wilson (ABC's Happy Endings) co-stars as the pregnant neighbor of Ben & Rosamund. She basically advertised for her new NBC comedy Marry Me cuz this girl was awesome in her role and pivotal to the story.

The best part of this movie is that Gillian Flynn, author of Gone Girl, broke the tradition of authors adapting their own books and it having disastrous results (looking at you Suzanne Collins and the first Hunger Games). The script is smart, detail oriented, and most of all cunning. Someone give David Fincher's agent a raise cuz he always aligns himself with brilliant screenwriters. Gillian WILL win the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay while Fincher will be nominated for Best Direction.

If I could say 20 stars that'd be an understatement. 5 stars with full confidence. SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!
