Annihilation

A woman armed large gun, backed by four others, enters a heavily forested area
Lemme just say I really liked "Annihilation!" I thought it was well written, well acted, and probed such deep questions.

Natalie Portman is a biologist who's husband played by Oscar Isaac goes missing for a year and suddenly turns up alive. He's got miniscule memory of who he is and where he was. Soon Natalie's character realizes he's the lone survivor of a mission going into The Shimmer, a wall of bubble liquid that came from space engulfing a lighthouse and the area around it.

The movie has action mostly with a female cast and director Alex Garland empowered these women to be fearless. Hell Gina Rodriguez plays a lesbian with half her hair shaved. That's a bold look in today's society of Hollywood beauty. Natalie was overacting a tiny bit, but Oscar Isaac was the bee's knees. He was so good as her "amnesiac" husband. BUT David Gyasi stole my heart. #NewCelebCrushAlert

Check this one out. I give it 4 out of 5 stars. It's getting slammed at the box office and by critics, but it really is good.
