Catch Hell

The male version of "Black Snake Moan" sees Ryan Phillippe as a once "It Boy" named Reagan who travels to New Orleans for a movie. He's then misled to believe the people picking him up are from the movie...they are not. And here begins Catch Hell. Keep reading...
After being kidnapped we see Ryan Phillippe do what he does best: fight to survive. If you take a look at every character he plays from Sebastian from "Cruel Intentions" to Officer Hansen in "Crash" to Eric in "Stop-Loss" each character just wants to survive. This is Ryan at his best. It amazes me he hasn't been nominated for an Oscar yet. Truly. But the real scene stealer in this movie is Stephen Louis Grush as Junior. After you find out Reagan is kidnapped by hillbillies you think "Oh here we go." But they aren't just hillbillies. There's so much more to these characters. Ian Barford did a great job too.

A couple of confusing things...the reason why he's kidnapped is pretty weak, and because this movie is about the details (watch you'll see what I mean) I was pretty shocked when it's CLEAR a dead character is breathing...and Ryan's white shirt goes from dingy stained to white again miraculously.

Overall the movie gets 4 stars out of 5 from me. Very entertaining. I wondered "How's he gonna get out?" And it's not farfetched or unrealistic. Go on Netflix to watch...ps you get to see that Ryan Phillippe bubble butt the world's obsessed with.
