Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins plays a mute that works as a cleaning lady at a facility where "strange things" show up. Octavia Spencer plays her coworker, Richard Jenkins plays her gay neighbor, and Michael Shannon plays the man that "handles" these strange things that come to the facility.
Guillermo del Toro has done it again with this amazing story beautifully written, acted, and directed. Michael Shannon will get an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor and he deserves it. Sally Hawkins and Richard Jenkins wowed me, but of course Octavia Spencer added just enough to enhance a scene without stealing it. But there's one scene (I won't give away a spoiler) that she breaks your heart INSTANTLY!
