The Comeback

Back in 2005 Lisa Kudrow starred in an HBO comedy called "The Comeback" about former TV actress Valerie Cherish getting her own reality TV show called The Comeback while being back on NBC TV sitcom "Room & Board." Back in the 90s Valerie found fame with NBC office sitcom "I'm It." In the series alongside Kudrow at the time was a fairly new cast: Kellan Lutz (Chris), Jason Olive (Jesse), Malin Akerman (Juna), Robert Agnell (Tom), Damian Young (Mark),  Dan Bucatinsky (Billy), Lance Barber (Paulie G), Laura Silverman (Jane), and Robert Michael Morris (Mickey). Read on...So Valerie is married to Mark (Marky Marky as she calls him) with Mickey as her stylist (Kudrow is a redhead). She co-stars in NBC's Room & Board as Aunt Sassy with Juna, Chris, & Jesse written by Tom & Paulie G. She has a new agent Billy; and Jane is the director/producer of "The Comeback" (her NBC reality TV show). Follow me so far?

The first season of this show was hilarious but low rated. HBO of course cancelled it, and what happens when a low rated fan loved show gets cancelled? It gains a cult following. So in 2014 HBO contacted Kudrow and her producer/co-creator Michael Patrick King (director/writer of "Sex & The City" movies and on the series) to do season 2 10 years later.

The second season of this show was JUST AS FUNNY IF NOT FUNNIER than season one. I actually binge watched all 21 episodes of the series in four days. The genius about the show is it truly is the life of a celebrity from technical terms and awkward celeb encounters to at home life.

If you are a fan of Kudrow's or any others that I listed you should watch. HBO Go has it for free and also Amazon Prime members. 5 out of 5. And Kudrow will break Julia Louis-Dreyfus' streak to win Best Actress in a Lead Role (Comedy) this coming year at the Emmys. She'll also win at the Golden Globes.
