So the movie may seem confusing, but all you need to remember is think of The Bible. Once you do that you will get this movie, and it'll make perfect sense.
Darren Aronofsky stepped back into his #BlackSwan roots with this dark tale. It's visually eye popping.
Jennifer Lawrence is flawless in this movie. She plays the ingenue bride to Javier Bardem. He's a writer with a block; they've lived in this house for awhile...enough that Jennifer has restored it. It's Javier's childhood home, and it was burned the ground. He and Jennifer moved in, restored it to its former glory, and now live there. The trouble begins with the couple having an unexpected guest (Ed Harris). I don't want to give any more away, but it gets pretty crazy after that. You'll be scratching your head and asking "WTF" but just remember The Bible.
Overall I would give this movie a solid 4. It's good, but not GREAT or a CLASSIC! You'll enjoy it once you "get it."
