Her

Theodore is a lonely divorcee-to-be looking for meaning in his ordinary life. He tries dating and getting over his divorce, but things get so awkward he ends up accidentally falling for his Operating System. Set in the near future when he goes to upgrade his computer he requests a woman's voice which triggers a friendship. His Operating System is created by Artificial Intelligence that can evolve, feel, and live like human beings. The OS "Samantha" ends up being everything he wanted in his real-life girlfriend that he can't find.

Directed/written by the insanely talented (and cute) Spike Jonze feels alot like "Adaptation" mixed with "Lars and the Real Girl." Don't get me wrong Joaquim Phoenix as Theodore and Scarlett Johannsen as Samantha are perfectly cast and do an amazing job with such a believable script, but it feels like it was done before just differently. And the characters physical attributes look very similar to those in other Spike movies ("Being John Malkovich" and "Adaptation"). And the supporting cast is amazing: Amy Adams, Chris Pratt, Olivia Wilde, Matt Leschner, the list goes on.

Having said all that this is worth seeing. It's slow moving and smart talking. If you like other Spike movies and the pacing you will get this and love it. I did. 5 stars without even blinking.
