Kevin Costner comes out of obscurity to play mentor to Jack as he believably thwarts the plot of a Russian terrorist played brilliantly by Kenneth Branaugh. I giggled when I noticed Russia is the enemy in this movie given the role they are currently playing in the LGBT community.
The action is constant, the dialogue is sharp, and the action scenes are perfect. Under Kenneth Branaugh's direction this is a rebooted update of the franchise, and I absolutely love it. He cut his teeth in the action genre when he directed another Chris (Hemsworth) in Thor (with Kiera's lookalike Natalie Portman). And the casting of Chris Pine is so perfect for this movie as you watch you think to yourself "Why didn't he play this role before?" The thing I love about Chris is he's not just an action star, but he can play the love scenes with Kiera.
I give this movie 5 stars out of 5. Cannot wait to see the sequels and where everyone is in the next one. Definitely a must see in the theaters.
