In the Heart of the Sea

Remember when you heard the story of Moby Dick was inspired by a true story? This is that story. Most definitely 4 out of 5 stars...keep reading.
Ron Howard is back directing Chris Hemsworth after their "Rush" collaboration. And Chris really carries this movie as Owen Chase, 1st mate of the Essex. And Benjamin Walker (from "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter") is perfectly cast as the inexperienced but well-connected Captain. Together they venture out to find whales in order to collect whale oil for a Nantucket, MA oil company. Of course things go horribly wrong. Told through the eyes of a survivor many years later this is the actual version of the fictional story of Moby Dick. Brendan Gleeson is the storyteller and deserves any & every award he's nominated for in 2016.

I hope this movie does well not only because it's visually amazing, but it's got the heart it states in the movie title. Yes we've seen the type of story over and over, but this movie makes it all feel original. You definitely want to see this on the big screen. It's not perfect, but damn near close.
